Leonardo da Vinci | The first animal rights activist in history

121views

Leonardo da Vinci bought birds, rabbits… just to release them back into the wild.

Many historians consider him the first animal rights activist in history.

Testimonies say he was also a great prankster. During one of his visits to the Vatican, he took an ordinary lizard and attached fake wings and horns to it, intending to frighten the church dignitaries.

He was noticed. He waited for them to get scared and run away, then he took the lizard and returned it to nature.

He wanted to discover a way for man to actually fly.

For years he observed birds, studied their flight in detail, constantly made notes on his insight, drew conclusions about the mechanics and aerodynamics necessary for the practical execution of human flight.
