Maricic in Brussels, at a meeting on the screening process for Chapter 25

The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European affairs, Bojan Maricic, today leads the Macedonian delegation in Brussels on the occasion of the start of the bilateral screening meeting for chapter 25, “Science and research” from the third cluster, “Competitiveness and inclusive growth”.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Negotiator with the EU will use the one-day working visit to Brussels to hold a coordination meeting with the Director for the Western Balkans in the General Directorate for Neighborhood Policy and Negotiations for the Enlargement of the European Union, Michela Matuella, and will also meet with Simon Mordew, foreign policy advisor to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

The screening process is going smoothly, and according to the established calendar, it should end by the end of November. Explanatory and bilateral screening has been fully completed for two key clusters: Cluster 1, “Core Values” and Cluster 2, “Internal Market”. Bilateral screening is underway for the third cluster, “Competitiveness and inclusive growth”, for which the explanatory screening has been completed. At the same time, we closed the explanatory screening for the fourth cluster, “Green Agenda and Transport Policy”, reports the Secretariat for European Affairs.
