JAPAN IS SURRENDERING! Energy expert on Tokyo’s decision to buy oil from Russia again!

Japan has resumed buying Russian oil a month after defiantly refusing it, according to data from the Asian country’s finance ministry. Why is this happening, explained Alexander Frolov, a Russian expert on the energy market.

Japan resumed oil imports from Russia in July. The return to buying Russian oil came a month after Japan’s defiant rejection of Russian energy resources.

In July, Japan bought 65.4 percent less oil than in the same month in 2021, but still more than the complete lack of supplies in June.

The deputy general director of the National Institute of Energy, Alexander Frolov, expressed the opinion that Japan gave up on the issue of oil, due to the impossibility of finding an alternative to Russian energy sources.

– Why did Japan surrender, why did it leave a dense formation of fighters fighting against aggressive Russia? Here the answer is trivial. Japan explored the world energy market, looked for oil there and found that there was no surplus fuel. There is no way to find the quantities of affordable oil that Japan needs. Neither the US nor the OPEC countries can supply these quantities. This is called prediction error. Now the reality has reached Japan, after which the country changed its behavior – explained Frolov.
